SPIRE Wrestling

SPIRE Wrestling training is designed for the wrestler who wants to maximize his or her potential through superb technical development, intense drilling, and tactical coaching. Speed, strength, quickness, flexibility and endurance training is delivered within a customized program co-designed by SPIRE Performance Training and the Director of Wrestling. SPIRE’S goal is to produce competition-ready athletes by making them stronger and faster, while improving stamina and reducing the risk of injury.

    • Day one: 2:30 – 8pm
    • Day two: 9am – 5:30pm
    • Day three: 9a – noon

    Cost:

    • Boarding Option- $600 (meals included)
    • Day Option: $375 (lunch only included)

    • 13-18 years

    Description:

    Expand your skill set on the mat with the SPIRE Wrestling Prospect Camp. Emphasis will be placed on training the techniques critical to bringing your abilities to the next level. Under the instruction of the Director of Wrestling and former collegiate stand out, Mike Kulczycki, campers will be led through drills focusing on takedowns, riding, pinning, reversals, escapes and more. A portion of the camp will be spent with our Performance Team to help develop a training plan in the gym that will bring added strength, speed, agility, and flexibility to your skillset.

    What each athletes receives:

    • Professional instruction from Director of Wrestling and coaching staff
    • Performance Training
    • SPIRE Camps t-shirt
    • Day campers will have lunch included daily.
    • Boarding campers will have all meals included.

  • Wrestling Skill Development Clinic at U23 Nationals

    Description:

    USA Wrestling’s U23 Nationals & U20 World Team Trials returns to SPIRE June 2-4 with over 1,000 wrestlers from across the country competing in Greco-Roman and Freestyle matches.  To celebrate SPIRE hosting this elite wrestling event, we are offering our Skill Development Camp to give amateur wrestlers the chance to train in world-class facilities with tactical coaching and superb technical development from SPIRE’s Director of Wrestling and former collegiate stand out, Mike Kulczycki.  On Saturday, June 4, take part in  a training session prior to USA Wrestling competitions to sharpen your skills on the mat.  Registration includes admission to the U23 Nationals & U20 World Team Trials on June 4 so you can observe some of our country’s top amateur competitors in action.  Coach Kulczycki will lead campers through drills focusing on takedowns, riding, pinning, reversals, escapes and more.

    What each athletes receives:

    • Professional instruction/training from Mike Kulczycki, Director of Wrestling at SPIRE
    • 2-hour training sessions on campus at SPIRE
    • Admission to USA Wrestling’s U23 Nationals & U20 World Team Trials (June 4, 2023 at SPIRE) – additional passes for family/friends available for purchase through SPIRE

    Description:

    The SPIRE Wrestling Team & Individual Competition Camp combines tactical coaching, superb technical development, and intense drilling with the opportunity to put your skills to the test with multiple Folkstyle competitive matches against others in your weight class.  Attend this camp with members of your team/club or individually.  Under the instruction of Director of Wrestling and former collegiate stand out, Mike Kulczycki, campers will be led through drills focusing on takedowns, riding, pinning, reversals, escapes and more.  Upon arrival, campers will weigh in and then be appropriately placed in a weight class for group training and competition.  A portion of the camp will be spent with our Performance Team to help develop a training plan in the gym that will bring added strength, speed, agility, stamina and flexibility to your skillset. This extended camp also includes a session with a mental skills coach to help athletes manage stress and expectations, set goals, visualization and more.

    What each athletes receives:

    • Professional instruction/training  from Director of Wrestling and coaching staff with intensive work on technical skills and techniques.
    • Multiple competitive Folkstyle matches against peers in your same weight class.
    • Wrestling specific Performance Training and Mental Skills.

  • Who will be your instructors for Wrestling Camps?

    Wrestling Camps will be led by SPIRE Academy Wrestling Head
    Coach, Mike Kulczycki.

  • What type of training will be covered at SPIRE Wrestling Camps?

    SPIRE Wrestling Camps will intensely focus on technical development, drilling, and tactical coaching. It will also include speed, strength, quickness, flexibility, and endurance training.

  • What items should I bring to day camp?

    • Clothing: Each camper must wear comfortable sports-appropriate clothing.
    • Footwear: Wrestling shoes. No street shoes will be permitted on the mats. Each camper must wear comfortable, sports appropriate shoes. Sandals, clogs, or other shoes are okay for leisure time.
    • Towels will not be provided by SPIRE. We ask you to bring your own.
    • Water Bottle: Each athlete should bring his/her own water bottle. Swimmers will be able to refill throughout the day.
    • Back Pack or Gym Bags: It is recommended that all campers bring their own backpack or gym bag to keep personal items together.
  • What items should I bring to boarding camp?

    • Please remember to pack light for your stay. There will be no additional assistance when carrying luggage to and from dormitories during check in and check out.
    • Clothing: Each camper must wear comfortable sports-appropriate clothing.
    • Footwear: Wrestling shoes. No street shoes will be permitted on the mats. Each camper must wear comfortable, sports appropriate shoes. Sandals, clogs, or other shoes are okay for leisure time.
    • Shower Essentials: Campers are responsible for providing their own grooming essentials. These essentials are to include but is not limited to soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, towel (s), shower shoes.
    • Linens-Bedding, pillows and towels will not be provided by SPIRE. We ask you to bring your own (Bed Linen – Twin XL – Deep Pocket).
    • Water Bottle: Each athlete should bring his/her own water bottle. Swimmers will be able to refill throughout the day.
    • Back Pack or Gym Bags: It is recommended that all campers bring their own backpack or gym bag to keep personal items together.
    • Items for Leisure Time: Various evening activities will be hosted by SPIRE. Campers can bring items such as: books, magazines, board games, playing cards, arts and crafts. It is not recommended that campers bring expensive electronics such as iPods or hand-held gaming devices. It is the athlete’s responsibility to maintain all personal belongings during their time at camp.
