SPIRE offers soccer athletes the opportunity to significantly improve proficiency via customized, small group instruction and athlete performance training.

A partnership between Challenger Pro & SPIRE Academy, as well as the Steven Gerrard Academy, has designed a training curriculum like no other. These three organizations combine for over 100+ years of training experience that will prepare you for your high school or club season, giving you the opportunity to be identified for our year-round program to include residency at SPIRE Academy and acceptance into the Steven Gerrard Academy in Liverpool, England.

This unique recruiting pathway and player development program offers the chance to train with the best coaches and compete against elite competition.

    Unlike any other soccer camp in the country!

    SPIRE Academy is now the National Training Center of Challenger PRO. Why SPIRE? We develop elite athletes in all sports. Our Train Like a Pro experience is part of a unique, customized soccer development pathway that takes competitive soccer athletes to the collegiate level and beyond. We take your athlete on a journey of what it takes to play at the next level, on and off the field, developing the most well rounded and highly desired recruits in soccer. This journey is an in-depth, year long experience that no other camp on the market offers.

    The Train Like a Pro Camp is a chance to elevate your game and to be scouted for our year long training program that will include international tours, professional academies and high recruiting tournaments. Camp is led by SPIRE’s Director of Soccer Sean Lane, who brings over 25 years of combined international playing & coaching experience at the professional level with time spent in England, Asia and Australia.  Join us to gain a competitive edge and maximize exposure opportunities for collegiate and professional scouts.

    This 5-day pro-style camp experience will include individualized attention to technical skill development, positioning and team tactics.  Our Performance Training Team will work with you individually to develop a training plan that will bring added strength, speed, agility and flexibility to your skill set.  Gain understanding for the importance of proper nutrition needed to fuel your body in training and recovery.

    Physical and technical training are only part of personal growth in soccer.  Elite athletes must have mental toughness and be able to manage stress, anxiety and expectations.  Train Like a Pro implements activities dedicated to becoming a well-rounded individual, developing leadership skills and preparing you for success beyond high school, including:

    • Boarding: Arrive Sunday 3:00pm
    • Day Option: Arrive Monday 9:00am
    • Camp runs daily 9am-5:30pm
    • Camp ends at 2:30 on the last day

    What will the camper receive/learn from the Camp?

  • SPIRE Challenge Cup (Teams/Invitation Only)

    Through the Challenger PRO & SPIRE Academy partnership, we are inviting select groups to attend our Team Camp at SPIRE. The coach of teams selected will have the opportunity to attend camp for free and take part in coaching workshops dedicated to coaching education for both domestic and international platforms. Gain a deeper understanding of systems of play and learn about tournament preparation, nutrition and player development training. This camp will also lead to identifying players for our international tours and SPIRE Academy program.

    Elements of the Team Camp include:

    • Morning & afternoon training sessions with technical breakdowns and responsibilities for all positions.
    • Performance Training and education to emphasize the importance of nutrition and periodization.
    • Evening competitions (11v11) against teams from  various parts of the country for the SPIRE Challenge Cup. Games will be coached by the team’s coaches.
    • Local college coaches will be invited to watch evening games.
    • Challenger PRO and SPIRE Academy staff will evaluate player for the National Future Soccer Star program.
    • Awards for Player of the Week and Highest Goal Scorer.
    • College Preparation and Career Planning talk.
    • Opportunity to be recruited for Steven Gerrard Academy in Liverpool, UK and SPIRE Academy.

    Coaches will also find value in additional elements of Team Camp, including:

    • 5-day evaluation of their team.
    • Coaching workshops & eduction on strength conditioning.
    • Grow as a coach and increase your ability to read the game tactically.
    • College recruiting education talk.
    • Opportunity to be invited to our Football Association of Wales, or Irish FAC courses.

      • Check-in Sunday from 11aa – 2pm.
      • Training Monday-Thursday from 6am – 4:30pm.
      • Evening games Monday-Wednesday at 7pm.
      • Camp closing ceremony Thursday at 2pm, concluding at 3pm.

  • What types of training do SPIRE Soccer Camps consist of?

    SPIRE Soccer Camps will include individual and group training, skill development, competitions and games. Some camps will also include performance and nutritional training.

  • Who are your instructors for soccer camps?

    Camps will be instructed by SPIRE Academy Soccer Head Coach, Sean Lane. Our camp counselors will be current and former professional, collegiate and high school players.

  • What is the difference between your “Academy” and “Elite” Soccer Camps?

    SPIRE Academy Soccer Camps will be designed for beginner to advanced skill levels. These experiences will contain a mix of individual fundamentals, team concepts, and games. SPIRE Elite Soccer Camps are designed for advanced to elite skill level players and will include an intensive focus on individual techniques, competition games,
    performance training, and mental skills work.

  • What items should I bring to day camp?

    • Clothing: Each camper must wear comfortable sports-appropriate clothing.
    • Footwear & Sport Specific Gear: Each camper must bring cleats AND all-purpose sneakers, shin guards, and mouth guard. Sandals, clogs, or other shoes are okay for leisure time.
    • Shower Essentials: Campers are responsible for providing their own grooming essentials. These essentials are to include but is not limited to soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, towel (s), shower shoes.
    • Towels will not be provided by SPIRE. We ask you to bring your own.
    • Water Bottle: Each athlete should bring his/her own water bottle. Swimmers will be able to refill throughout the day.
    • Back Pack or Gym Bags: It is recommended that all campers bring their own backpack or gym bag to keep personal items together.
  • What items should I bring to boarding camp?

    • Please remember to pack light for your stay. There will be no additional assistance when carrying luggage to and from dormitories during check in and check out.
    • Clothing: Each camper must wear comfortable sports-appropriate clothing.
    • Footwear & Sport Specific Gear: Each camper must bring cleats AND all-purpose sneakers, shin guards, and mouth guard. Sandals, clogs, or other shoes are okay for leisure time.
    • Shower Essentials: Campers are responsible for providing their own grooming essentials. These essentials are to include but is not limited to soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, towel (s), shower shoes.
    • Linens-Bedding, pillows and towels will not be provided by SPIRE. We ask you to bring your own (Bed Linen – Twin XL – Deep Pocket).
    • Water Bottle: Each athlete should bring his/her own water bottle. Swimmers will be able to refill throughout the day.
    • Back Pack or Gym Bags: It is recommended that all campers bring their own backpack or gym bag to keep personal items together.
    • Items for Leisure Time: Various evening activities will be hosted by SPIRE. Campers can bring items such as: books, magazines, board games, playing cards, arts and crafts. It is not recommended that campers bring expensive electronics such as iPods or hand-held gaming devices. It is the athlete’s responsibility to maintain all personal belongings during their time at camp.
