2025 USA Wrestling U23 Nationals & U20 World Team Trials: Everything You Need to Know

SPIRE Academy is thrilled to once again be hosting the USA Wrestling U23 Nationals and U20 World Team Trials this year, from May 30–June 1. Wrestlers from across the country will descend in Harpersfield Township, OH to compete, with U20 wrestlers vying for the opportunity to represent the United States at the upcoming World Championships.

The event will feature competition for U20 age athletes (born 2005–2008) and U23 age athletes (born 2002-2007) in Men’s Freestyle and Greco-Roman. The top eight winners in the U20 division who are eligible will qualify for the Junior and 16U National Championships.

Notably, SPIRE Academy wrestlers Ryan Kennedy and Brogan Fielding will be competing at the event.

Finally, SPIRE Academy Wrestling Director Mike Kulczycki, will be offering a skill-development clinic where wrestlers can hone their performance under the tutelage of some of the best coaching talent in the sport. The clinic will focus on key aspects of wrestling, including takedowns, escapes, reversals and pinning combinations. Important Reminders

Weigh Ins/Medical – Weights DO NOT CARRY OVER – Athletes must weigh-in for each registered division at Scratch weight.

WEIGH-IN PROCEDURES: ATHLETES MUST BRING A PHYSICAL COPY OF THEIR USA WRESTLING MEMBERSHIP CARD IN ORDER TO RECORD THE WEIGHT AT THE SCALE.

  • Wrestlers must have a current USA Wrestling card to scan at the scale in order for officials to input the correct weight.
  • Wrestlers must have a competition singlet on when entering the weigh-in area.
  • They must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-in. The chief medical officer has full authority without appeal in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete. 
  • Parents/coaches cannot accompany the wrestlers. They will not be allowed to carry additional clothing with them during weigh-ins. 


MEDICAL CHECK
Athletes must be present in a COMPETITION SINGLET and must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-in. The chief medical officer has full authority without appeal in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete.
