SPIRE Academy is thrilled to once again be hosting the USA Wrestling U23 Nationals and U20 World Team Trials this year, from May 30–June 1. Wrestlers from across the country will descend in Harpersfield Township, OH to compete, with U20 wrestlers vying for the opportunity to represent the United States at the upcoming World Championships.
The event will feature competition for U20 age athletes (born 2005–2008) and U23 age athletes (born 2002-2007) in Men’s Freestyle and Greco-Roman. The top eight winners in the U20 division who are eligible will qualify for the Junior and 16U National Championships.
Notably, SPIRE Academy wrestlers Ryan Kennedy and Brogan Fielding will be competing at the event.
From the rest of the wresting world, here are the names of the top wrestlers who will be competing and the ones to watch:
Finally, SPIRE Academy Wrestling Director Mike Kulczycki, will be offering a skill-development clinic where wrestlers can hone their performance under the tutelage of some of the best coaching talent in the sport. The clinic will focus on key aspects of wrestling, including takedowns, escapes, reversals and pinning combinations. Wrestlers will engage in high-intensity drills and live wrestling sessions, all tailored to improve technique, strength and mat awareness. Get full details on this amazing opportunity here.
