SPIRE Academy today announced that Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment (GSE) will support financial education programming for students, parents and alumni furthering the academy’s commitment to preparing student-athletes for success beyond sport.
GENEVA, Ohio, October 6th, 2026— SPIRE Academy today announced that Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment (GSE) will support financial education programming for students, parents and alumni furthering the academy’s commitment to preparing student-athletes for success beyond sport.
The programming will integrate financial education into SPIRE’s academic and athletic development environment, helping students develop the knowledge and confidence to prepare for college, future careers and greater financial independence.
“Families trust us to prepare their children for what comes next,” said Jonathan Ehrenfeld, CEO and Managing Member of SPIRE Academy. “That includes how they think about money, evaluate opportunities and take responsibility for their decisions. Working with Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment makes financial education a more deliberate part of that preparation, with opportunities for students to learn and for families to be part of the conversation.”
Morgan Stanley GSE will be conducting on-campus financial literacy sessions for students at SPIRE Academy, as well as a virtual financial literacy program for parents. The Firm will also provide financial education content through articles for SPIRE’s alumni communications, extending learning opportunities across the academy community.
The initiative also includes virtual financial education for a student investment club supported by a SPIRE academic advisor. The curriculum will cover investing fundamentals, investment concepts, diversification, risk management principles and investor education.
“Financial education is most impactful when it begins early, before young athletes face increasingly complex decisions about their opportunities, careers and futures,” said Sandra L. Richards, Managing Director, Head of Global Sports & Entertainment and Segment Sales & Engagement. “Through this initiative with SPIRE Academy, we are helping student-athletes and their families build the knowledge, confidence and decision-making skills they need to take ownership of their financial well-being and prepare for success in sports and beyond.”
For SPIRE, the work reflects an approach to education that connects academic learning with the responsibilities students will encounter in their own lives.
“Education has to reflect the world our students are entering,” said Candice Sears, Head of School at SPIRE Academy. “Today’s student-athletes are balancing academic goals, athletic ambitions and growing independence. Financial education gives them a place to ask questions, examine risk and think through how a decision today can affect their options tomorrow. That belongs in their education, whatever path they choose.”
The initiative supports SPIRE’s broader efforts to integrate academics, athletic development and preparation for adult life into a cohesive student experience.
