Born on May 8, 1993, in Warren, Ohio, Nia Grant has carved an indelible mark in the world of professional volleyball. This dynamic athlete has had a career that spans across national and international stages, making her an influential figure in the sport.

Nia’s journey into volleyball began at Howland High School. Herremarkable talent quickly distinguished her as a standout player, winning her numerous accolades and setting the stage for an illustrious career. Her passion for the sport was undeniable, paving the way for a successful transition to collegiate volleyball.

Choosing to attend Penn State University was a pivotal decision in Nia’s career. Under the watchful eye of the acclaimed coach, Russ Rose, Nia’s raw talent was refined and honed to excellence. Her time at Penn State was marked by notable success, as she helped lead the team to secure two NCAA Championships in
2013 and 2014. Her exceptional abilities on the court, combined with her leadership and dedication, played a significant role in these victories.

Upon graduation, Nia ventured into the international arena. Her first professional stint was with Ayutthaya VB in Thailand followed by Nantes Volleyball Club in France. Her performance on the French courts was nothing short of breath taking, gaining her well-deserved recognition and opening doors to further opportunities.

Nia’s career took her across Europe and beyond, where she showcased her skills in various top-tier leagues. Through Thailand, France, Germany, Poland, to Italy’s elite volleyball leagues, Nia made her mark as a middle blocker. Her ability to anticipate the opposition’s moves and her outstanding offensive and defensive capabilities, paired with her leadership skills, made her an invaluable asset to every team she represented.

Beyond her professional career, Nia’s passion for volleyball extends to nurturing the next generation of athletes. As the head coach at Saint Benedicts Prep School, she is committed to sharing her knowledge and experience with young athletes. Her goal is to inspire, especially young girls, to chase their dreams in sports and beyond. Furthermore, Nia’s involvement with Athletes Unlimited demonstrates her dedication to advancing the sport. As part of this innovative sports model, she continues to push the boundaries of professional volleyball, contributing to the growth and evolution of the sport.

Off the court, Nia is a strong advocate for using her platform for positive impact.
