Phil Darrin

Phil Darrin is our new and first Head of School at SPIRE Academy.  Phil is a dedicated and creative educational administrator with a career spanning nearly 20 years in schools.  With expertise in educational leadership, student and faculty development, curriculum design and standards-based grading, Phil has a proven track record of motivating students and teachers for success in a rapidly changing and intensely competitive world. Phillip is passionate about investing in students and communities, providing course instruction and counseling to help overcome potential performance challenges. He has made significant contributions in transforming school technology infrastructure, creating a continuous improvement curriculum framework, recruiting and mentoring new teachers and increasing school revenue through innovative programs.

Before his tenure at SPIRE Academy, Phil served as the Chief Programs officer at South Kent School.  Prior to South Kent, Phil was the Director of Certification at the American Board of Audiology in Reston, VA, where he increased membership by 300% in two years by improving certification programs. He also collaborated on the development of specialty certification programs for audiologists, specifically for Cochlear Implants, showcasing his strong technical, project management and requirements management skills. Additionally, Phillip held a position as the Director of Administration at the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Alexandria, VA, where he modernized various organizational processes. He holds an MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship & Innovation from Babson College and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Law & Society from Purdue University. Throughout his career, Phillip has been dedicated to advancing innovation in curricular and co-curricular programs, thereby contributing significantly to the educational community.
