Title: Director of Mindset Development
Prior to joining SPIRE as the full time Director of Mindset Development, Zac spent the past decade working as a mental skills coach and sport psychology consultant for numerous organizations, including several collegiate athletic programs, preparatory academies (including SPIRE), healthcare organizations, and various other entities. He also has a background in corporate wellness, implementing personalized health and behavior initiatives with several small businesses and companies. In his various roles, Zac has worked closely with academic and athletic administration, medical personnel, strength and conditioning staff, and executive leadership to help facilitate positive outcomes for individuals and groups. In addition, Zac places high value on the time he spent working and training with Veterans at the North Texas VA Hospital. Zac has published several articles and other content focused on the role of exercise prescription as part of mental health service delivery and expanding the use of mindset training in athletics.
With a deep understanding of the psychological aspects of sports and considerable experience in various modalities, Zac is committed to helping individuals, coaches, and teams achieve their top level of performance. He has worked extensively with elite athletes from the high school to professional level with an eye towards helping these individuals balance their athletic, academic, career, and life demands. He specializes in providing personalized strategies and techniques to enhance overall performance through areas such as mental resilience, goal-setting, increasing focus, managing performance anxiety, and overcoming adversity. Through this comprehensive approach, Zac believes that individuals are able to grow and unlock their full potential in both their athletic endeavors as well as their other life pursuits
