Title: History Teacher

Dr. Charles Kaczynski began teaching at Spire Institute & Academy in the fall of 2021.  Since coming to Geneva, Ohio, he has taught a variety of history, political science, and historical research methods classes.  This year some of his classes include: “Big History — The History of Everything,” “Sports in History,” “Bias in the Media,” and “Cold War Cinema: Radioactive Monsters, Alien Invasions & America’s Postwar Anxieties.”  While a native of northeastern Ohio, Dr. Kaczynski lived on the East Coast for the last 23 years and taught a variety of courses there on the high-school and collegiate levels.  After graduating from Saint Ignatius High School, Dr. Kaczynski earned degrees at Miami University, Northern Illinois University, and the Catholic University of America and has undertaken additional classwork at Cleveland State University, Emory University, and the Polonia Institute in Krakow, Poland.  Along with his work in the classroom, Dr. Kaczynski has conducted research and published on topics in American immigration and religious history.  He is currently in the preliminary stages of a book project on the social and political history of his hometown, Parma Heights, Ohio.
