Move-In Day at SPIRE Academy was full of excitement as students officially arrived on campus to kick off a brand-new school year.
SPIRE’s Student Ambassadors, Senior Track athlete Jenna-Marie Thomas and Junior Lacrosse athlete Tim Windfelder, played a big role in welcoming new faces, helping classmates settle in, and making sure everyone felt at home. “Move-In was such a success! I loved helping out, meeting the new students, and reconnecting with my old teammates. I’m so excited for this school year,” said Thomas, who is from Trinidad & Tobago.
The excitement was on full display in the gym as Men’s Basketball set the tone for the season ahead with a training session during move-in weekend. “Today we had our first informal practice – a lot of high volume high intensity, but very basic things to get the foundation started for us moving forward,” said Coach Brendan Boyle.
The day was made even more special thanks to community partners. Meijer came through with welcome gifts for the students, while Chick-fil-A handed out chicken sandwiches and gift cards, both adding to the fun and friendly atmosphere of the day.
With a strong start like this, the year ahead at SPIRE looks promising, filled with growth, teamwork, and plenty of memorable moments both on and off the field. “It’s great to welcome back our returning athletes and just as exciting to see so many new faces. With our biggest academy year to date, the campus is full of energy and life. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead, it’s going to be a great year,” exclaimed SPIRE’s Director of Academy, Trish Johnson.
