ACMC Cuts Ribbon on New Geneva Family Health Center

08/28/2023

Now located on the SPIRE Academy campus

Leaders from Ashtabula County Medical Center, SPIRE Academy, the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, and local government officials will be celebrating the opening the new ACMC Geneva Family Health Center with a ribbon cutting on August 30.

ACMC Geneva Family Health Center had been located in the Colonel’s Plaza on South Broadway since 2016. The new facility is located in the Aquatics Facility on the south side of the SPIRE Academy campus.

“The Geneva community welcomed us with open arms back in 2016. So much so, that we knew quickly that we would need more space – especially to be able to offer more services,” said ACMC Healthcare System President & CEO Leonard Stepp, Jr. “We began discussions with the SPIRE team in mid-2022, and here we are a year later in this beautiful new facility.”

“The opportunity to collaborate with SPIRE is a proverbial win-win. We have almost double the square footage as our previous location, with the option to expand even further. For SPIRE, our presence on campus gives students at SPIRE Academy access to primary care and all the services at the Geneva Family Health Center,” said Stepp.

“We are so pleased and excited to welcome ACMC/Cleveland Clinic to the SPIRE Campus.  They are a valued partner of SPIRE’s and we are excited to extend our current relationship with the opportunity to continue to grow this partnership over time,” said Jeff Orloff, Chief Operating Officer of SPIRE.  “We feel this will be a great added benefit to the local community, as well as to the athletes who attend our Academy, camps, events and participate at SPIRE through our regional programming.”

The new Geneva Family Health Center features 10 patient exam rooms, a procedure room, a large waiting area, and dedicated space for care management and phone nurses.

In addition to primary care and pediatrics, Geneva Family Health Center will offer laboratory, digital x-ray, and physical and aquatic therapy.

ACMC Family Medicine specialist Emily Cheich, DO, sees patients full-time in Geneva. She said, “I am excited about our move to the SPIRE campus. The increased clinical space and the addition of x-ray and physical and aquatic therapy will make it easier and more convenient for my patients who need those services.”

“We believe that primary care is the foundation of health, which is why we have placed family health centers in five locations in Ashtabula County,” said Stepp. “The move to SPIRE will allow us to meet the primary care needs of more patients in the greater Geneva community.”

New patients are being welcomed into the Geneva Family Health Center. To schedule an appointment with family medicine, please call 440-997-6969. To schedule a pediatric appointment, please call 440-997-6980. Laboratory services are available on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to noon. Digital x-ray and physical and aquatic therapy services will become available in September.

For SPIRE, our presence on campus gives students at SPIRE Academy access to primary care and all the services at the Geneva Family Health Center.
