SPIRE Academy’s High School Red men’s basketball team topped off an already phenomenal season with a crowning achievement—taking gold in three straight wins at the Big Shots National Tournament, held February 28 through March 2 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  

On Friday, March 1, SPIRE claimed victory over Combine Academy, 48–47. On Saturday, March 2, it was Prince George Academy Blue’s turn to fall to SPIRE Red, 56–42. And on Sunday, March 3, Huntington Expression Prep was positively chased off the court by SPIRE’s Big Red Basketball Machine, 58–30. 

Finally, SPIRE senior Devin Hall was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Congratulations and thanks to all the ballers of SPIRE High School Red for giving us a big season with an even bigger ending.
