SPIRE and Ashtabula County Medical Center Team Up to Expand Quality Medical Care in Geneva, OH

04/14/2023

SPIRE is excited to announce that it is collaborating with Ashtabula County Medical Center, a Cleveland Clinic affiliate, to relocate its Geneva Family Health Center to campus to provide medical services to both SPIRE Academy and the greater community.

Tina Stasiewski, VP of Business Development at Ashtabula County Medical Center (ACMC), described how ACMC plans to move its Geneva Family Health Center onto the SPIRE campus. This 6,500 square feet space is expected to open its doors in July of 2023 and will be their new home for providing primary care and pediatrics to SPIRE campus and the surrounding community. Eventually, specialty consultations such as pulmonology will also be offered at Geneva Family Health Center.

Geneva Family Health Center Offers:

Family Medicine (Primary Care)

Geneva Family Health Center’s family medicine providers offer comprehensive, personal health care – from routine checkups and preventive health to diagnosing and treating common illnesses and injuries. ACMC’s family medicine providers have the connections to ensure you get the best treatment close to home. To schedule an appointment with a Family Medicine provider, call 440.997.6969.

Pediatrics

ACMC’s pediatrics team provides well-baby/well-child exams; provides vaccinations; and treats short- and long-term conditions and diseases. They also join in community efforts to prevent and solve problems with children’s healthcare and serve as children’s advocates. To schedule an appointment with a member of the ACMC Pediatrics team in Geneva or Ashtabula, call 440.997.6969.

Lab Services

The ACMC Laboratory provides accurate, timely, convenient, and affordable testing and blood collection services to physician offices and patients. Hours at the current Geneva Family Health Center (1028 S. Broadway) are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to noon.

Digital X-Ray

Once relocated to the SPIRE campus, ACMC’s Geneva Family Health Center will offer digital X-ray – a non-invasive procedure that creates a digital image of the inside of the body.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapists at ACMC team with licensed physical therapy assistants to deliver exercise-based treatments with the goal to restore a patient’s prior level of function and alleviating pain. Physical Therapy will be available at Geneva Family Health Center when it opens on the SPIRE campus.

Relationships for A Better Community

Ashtabula County Medical Center has been the county’s largest employer for over twenty years. SPIRE and Ashtabula County Medical Center both have a strong relationship with the Geneva community and with citizens throughout Ashtabula County. ACMC opened its Geneva Family Health Center in 2016. The community embraced the healthcare provider, and it quickly outgrew its current location. The new medical complex will allow for additional services to be provided in Geneva, provide an even greater level of care, and continues to demonstrate ACMC’s dedication to their patients and community.

“The collaboration between SPIRE and ACMC gives us a unique opportunity to expand healthcare in the greater Geneva area. Our Geneva Family Health Center was embraced by the community when we opened in 2016 and we quickly outgrew the space. Relocating to SPIRE doubles our current footprint and gives us the ability to expand into adjacent space to continue to add services that will benefit the student-athletes at SPIRE, our current patients, and the community,” said Leonard Stepp, Jr., President and CEO of the ACMC Healthcare System.

Available to All

SPIRE’s student athletes will have access to all the healthcare services at ACMC’s Geneva Family Health Center. If a student wakes up not feeling well, or needs medical attention during practice or a game, they won’t need to leave campus to see a doctor.

Depending on hours and the schedule of events, these types of services may also be available to athletes from other schools who are visiting the campus for a tournament or other event as well.

SPIRE is truly an integral part of the Geneva community. Having a medical facility such as this one available to the local citizens demonstrates their continued commitment to the greater community.

Jeff Orloff, president of SPIRE recently explained, “We’re so excited to be able to provide this type of top-notch medical care on-site, not only for our athletes – in a day-to-day manner – but also, to be able to be the home for an amazing medical facility available to the Geneva community and to Ashtabula County as well.”

The collaboration between SPIRE and ACMC gives us a unique opportunity to expand healthcare in the greater Geneva area.
