SPIRE Academy’s Prep Basketball team recently competed and excelled in the National Prep Division at the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas, NV. The event was held from December 16th to 18th, 2023, and the team achieved an impressive 3-1 record. This adds to their continued success at the Tarkanian Classic, where they have now reached a 6-1 standing over the past two years. This accomplishment will help gain much earned-exposure for SPIRE and for the team members.

During the tournament, Eltramon Smith stood out as a key player for the team, averaging over 18 points per game across the four matches. Smith, demonstrating his dedication to excellence, recently made a significant decision by committing to Barton College, a distinguished Division 1 Junior College located in Great Bend, Kansas. 

SPIRE’s Prep team is the highest level national program that plays some of the best competition in the country. It is composed of high school and postgraduate student athletes, with the opportunity for anybody in the basketball program to earn time on the team. They will be training for the upcoming Perkiomen Tournament held in Pennsburg, PA from January 5th to 7th. We congratulate them on their well deserved success.
