Two SPIRE Academy wrestlers made their mark at one of the nation’s most prestigious high school wrestling events, bringing home national hardware from the 2026 U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals, better known as Fargo Nationals.

Held each summer in Fargo, North Dakota, Fargo Nationals is widely regarded as the premier national tournament for high school wrestlers in the United States. Hosted by USA Wrestling, the event brings together the country’s top athletes to compete in freestyle and Greco-Roman competition, with national titles and honors on the line. For many wrestlers, success at Fargo is a defining achievement and a stepping stone to collegiate competition.

SPIRE’s incoming junior, Layden Acevedo, delivered an outstanding performance capturing the 2026 U16 National Championship at 175 pounds. Acevedo proved himself among the nation’s elite by earning a Fargo national title.

Fellow SPIRE standout, Jason Dube, also put together an exceptional performance in the Junior division. Dube dominated on his way to the 150 pound championship match, finishing as the 2026 Junior National Fargo Runner Up after his impressive run through a nationally competitive bracket.

The performances by Acevedo and Dube reflect the commitment, discipline, and excellence that defines SPIRE Wrestling. Competing against the nation’s best and reaching the podium is a testament to the countless hours of preparation both athletes have invested throughout the year and to the leadership of Head Wrestling Coach, Mike Kulczycki, whose commitment to developing championship caliber athletes continues to elevate SPIRE Wrestling on the national stage.
