SPIRE Academy is excited to announce it will be hosting the Buckeye Wrestling Association League Championships, set for February 16, 2025. The tournament will be for wrestlers sixth grade and under, and will bring many young wrestlers and their families to the SPIRE campus.

“Hosting the Buckeye Wrestling Association League Championships is a great opportunity for SPIRE,” says Mike Kulczycki, SPIRE Academy Wrestling Director and Head Coach. “We’re excited to see these young wrestlers compete and grow in an environment filled with such passion for the sport. Partnering with the Buckeye Wrestling Association aligns perfectly with our mission to support the development of youth athletes and create a memorable experience for all involved.”

The Buckeye Wrestling Association’s youth wrestlers are from the state’s northeast. The organization was founded to promote the ancient sport of wrestling and enrich the lives of the young athletes who take part in it. Notably, the association and its member clubs aim to aid in not just the physical development of those who compete, but to also promote good sportsmanship, community pride and spirit as a vital part of the overall athletic experience.

“The partnership between the Buckeye Wrestling Association and SPIRE Academy is an incredible opportunity for youth wrestlers from across northeastern Ohio to compete at the highest level, in facilities that are second to none,” says Dan Cosimi, Vice President of the Buckeye Wrestling Association. “We’re an association of community wrestling clubs, with membership that spans from the northeast corner of Ohio, to the west side of Cleveland, to south beyond Youngstown. So, we represent a large area and a lot of passionate young wrestlers. SPIRE’s state of the art facilities will be perfect for this important event, when the best kids from our communities come together every year to compete and climb the podium.”
