Intense Competition Expected as Top Wrestling Athletes Vie for Spots at U20 World Team Trials at SPIRE Academy

The excitement is building as the 2023 USA Wrestling U20 World Team Trials approaches. The event is set to take place June 2nd to June 4th at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. This year’s competition promises to be intense, with some of the most promising young wrestlers in the United States competing for a chance to represent their country on the world stage at the 2023 Wrestling World Championships in September.

Among the athletes competing are National Finalists from the USAW US Open Championships, including:

  • 57kg: Luke Lilledahl, MO (X-Calibur Athletics Wrestling Club)
  • 61kg: Nic Bouzakis, PA, (Pennsylvania)
  • 65kg: Tyler Kasak, PA (Pennsylvania)
  • 70kg: Meyer Shapiro, MD (Spartan Combat RTC)
  • 74kg: Mitchell Mesenbrink, WI (Askren Wrestling Academy)
  • 79kg: Gabriel Arnold, IA (Level Up Wrestling Center)
  • 86kg: Bennett Berge, MN (Jackrabbit Wrestling Club)
  • 92kg: Jack Darrah, MO (Missouri)
  • 97kg: Camden McDanel, OH (Ohio)
  • 125kg: Christian Carroll, TX (Cowboy RTC)

All of these athletes have trained hard and are ready to give it their all in the USA Wrestling U20 World Team Trials. The competition will be fierce, and only the best will make it through to the World Championships in Warsaw, Poland. For any fan of the sport, this event will be one to remember.
