SPIRE Fit General FAQs

  • How Do I Become A Member?

Becoming a member is easy! Visit SPIRE Fit at a time that is convenient for you. Please bring a photo ID. We’ll talk with you about which membership would best fit your needs as well as your health and wellness goals. You can make your initial payment (the initiation fee plus your first month’s dues, pro-rated as needed); we’ll set up a monthly bank draft and issue you a membership card. You can start working out that day!

  • How Much Does It Cost To Be A Member?

Fees vary depending on the category of membership you choose. There is a one-time initiation fee and monthly membership fees.  There is no contract so you can stop your membership at any time (we require 30 days’ notice prior to your draft date).

    Membership categories include:

    • Family Membership (one or two adults and all dependents under the age of 24 as long as they are on primary parent’s tax return)
    • Adult Membership (19+)
    • Youth/Teen Membership (12-18 years old)
    • Senior Membership (65+)

Please remember that there is a $50 non-sufficient funds or return payment fee. Please make sure to update your accounts with us as they change.

  • What Is Included With A Membership?

As a full fitness center and pool member, you receive use of the entire fitness center during all hours of operation and a free initial equipment orientation along with access to the free group exercise classes and access to the pool’s open swim and lap swim time. You also receive member rates on all paid fitness and aquatics programs and swim lessons.

  • As a SilverSneakers Member, What Do I Have Access To?

As a SilverSneakers member you have access to the same amenities as a Full Senior Member:

    • Use of the entire fitness center during all hours of operation
    • Free initial equipment orientation
    • Designated free group exercise classes
    • Access to the pool’s open swim and lap swim time
    • You also receive member rates on all paid SPIRE Fit (gym & pool) programs
  • What Is the Difference Between Lap Swim and Open Swim?

Lap swim is done in the Competition pool and must be continuous. Open swim is done in the Recreation pool (warm pool) and is a leisure activity.

  • May I Swim Prior To And After My Swim Class?

Extra pool use is permitted if you are a member. Individuals who are attending a single class and who are non-members may use the pool only during class time. Non-members are not permitted to use the pool while their child is in class.

  • May I Send My Kids To The Pool While I Work Out?

Children who are members and who are age 12 and up may use the pool unchaperoned as long as they follow the pool rules and their parent is in the building working out. A parent must complete a waiver prior to the youth, age 12-17, being allowed to be unchaperoned.

Children 11 and under must have a parent on the pool deck.

Children under the age of 6 must have a parent within arm’s reach in the water with them or satisfactorily pass the deep end test.

  • How Do I Cancel My Membership?

At SPIRE, there are no contracts for the length of your membership.

If you need to cancel your membership, please stop at the Member Services desk and request a cancellation form 30 days prior to your draft date.

  • May I Freeze My Membership?

Yes, a 30-day notice from your draft date is required and there is a $10 freeze fee. If you want to continue your freeze or extend it, there is an additional $10 freeze fee for each continued freeze. A Member Change Form must be completed each time. Please note that at the end of a hold your membership will restart. You must notify us if you then wish to cancel. Freezes will not begin until both the freeze fee and the completed form are received.

Snow-Bird on Hold status requires a 30-day notice. The minimum time frame is two months and the maximum is six months. There will be an “on hold” fee that will be assessed at the time of membership hold. The standard membership fee will resume when active membership status is reinstated. All requests must be completed in writing.

For any other cancelation or on-hold reason, outside of medical, there is a 2-month maximum before a new initiation fee would be assessed.

  • What If I Lose My Membership Card?

SPIRE Fit will replace the membership card one time (1) for free. Please stop at the SPIRE Fit front desk for the replacement card. After the first lost card, any additional replacement cards will be $5.
