SPIRE’s Cleveland Program Welcomes Local Student Athletes

03/28/2024

Renowned for its incredible sports training combined with academic excellence, SPIRE Academy introduces an innovative local program, designed for Cleveland-area student athletes who want the highest level of sports training and academic education. This new day-school program offers all of the academy’s educational and sports training benefits at attractive rates, without requiring students to board at the school full-time.

While many might not be aware, SPIRE’s campus is much more than a sports venue. This academy stands out as an amazing prep school and an athletic training powerhouse serving the greater Cleveland metro area. With high end facilities and seasoned coaching staff, SPIRE offers local students the chance to develop their skills and excel in both academics and athletics without having to move far away. This hidden gem offers a fantastic chance for Cleveland-area students access to a world-class education and sports training right in their own community. Here, students will be fully immersed in a supportive environment nurturing their athletic and academic goals. They will also have the chance to compete at the national level where they can gain valuable experience and the exposure they need to help them achieve their goals.

Participants in the local program who do not require full-time boarding will be given reduced tuition rates for both day school and partial boarding students, making the SPIRE experience more affordable for local families. By enrolling in the Cleveland Program, the cost of attending SPIRE is well within reach for many families. Local students may either live at home and attend SPIRE for school and training or partially board for four nights a week, returning home to spend time with their families on the weekends. These day and partial boarding students will receive a world-class education and phenomenal sports training that is affordable and within reach.

In a recent interview, Tricia Johnson, Director of Admissions at SPIRE Academy, shed some light on what sets the Cleveland Program apart from other schools in the area. “Our philosophy of training and integrating athletics with academics is different from any other school in the area. While traditional private schools might have a good sports program, we’re a sports academy. In traditional schools, kids go to class all day, and then they have practice, but they might only practice two or three days a week. We practice six days a week. So, I think from an integration perspective for student athletes wanting to elevate their athletics to a whole other level without compromising their academics, we’re the best opportunity around.”

This philosophy also resonates deeply with SPIRE’s Cleveland Program students, and they’ve shared their gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunities the school provides.

Santino Cardilli, a dedicated soccer player, described the invaluable experiences gained through SPIRE’s international community and top-notch facilities, telling us, “SPIRE Academy’s Cleveland Program has given me so many opportunities. Every day, I practice, train and play with some of the best student athletes in the world. The international diversity of the student body has given me the ability to learn and grow as a player and a person. SPIRE offers the very best in training, coaching, equipment and facilities to support this amazing group of students. The coaches, staff and administration have made SPIRE a target destination for elite level student athletes.”

His teammate, Korbin Jeffries, echoed that sentiment. “Based on my time here, it is clear SPIRE brings the greater Cleveland area an opportunity for kids and young adults to participate in an exceptional learning and growing environment.”

Lacrosse player Daniel Humphrey highlighted the program’s support system and his overall satisfaction with the SPIRE experience saying, “The Cleveland Program offers great facilities, amazing coaching staff, teachers, classmates and teammates. It also provides breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. I like the program a lot, and I enjoy every day here.”

Daelynn Haywood is a passionate swimmer, and she expressed how happy and grateful she is to be a part of this program. “SPIRE is a great program for any athlete who is looking to expand their skill set and take their career to the next level. The faculty here is fully devoted to the students, and they truly believe in everyone who walks through the door. I’m grateful that thanks to the Cleveland Program, I’ve been able to spend the last three years here and grow as an athlete, student and overall individual.”

Track & Field athlete Dane Szczepkowsk told us, “I think the program offers a great education and great coaching. SPIRE will take me to the next level! This local program is great for the Cleveland area, and I hope it continues to grow.”
